The Women

by Kristin Hannah

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Loved Every Minute of This Story

The Women by Kristin Hannah completely swept me away and was my top book of 2025. It’s one of those books that makes you laugh, cry, and feel everything in between. The characters are so real and easy to connect with—Frankie, especially, is the kind of heroine you can’t help but root for. And her friendships? Just incredible. They bring so much warmth and joy, even when the story gets heavy.

Hannah does an amazing job showing the intensity of the Vietnam War while still giving plenty of moments filled with hope, love, and even some surprising happiness. I found myself tearing up at times and smiling the next—she really knows how to pull on every heartstring. Not one for war stories, this truly was magnificent as it discussed everything around the war.

What really stayed with me is how beautifully the book honours the women who served. It shines a light on their bravery and struggles in such a respectful, moving way.

Overall, it’s emotional in the best possible sense—beautifully written, full of heart, and packed with unforgettable characters. I recommend this to everyone who comes into Abertillery Library.
