An Afternoon with A.G. Ford
Join author A.G Ford as he returns to at Brynmawr Library this autumn to discuss his new book!
It’s a Lovely Day Tomorrow: Servicemen of Brynmawr and Nantyglo
Throughout the 20th century, the towns of the South Wales Valleys punched way above their weight in terms of the number of young men who went to war to serve their countries.
When they came home from war, some of them told their stories, or very edited versions of their stories, to their families. Others didn’t want to tell their stories because what they experienced left an indelible mark on them.
In this book Ford looks at twelve of these young men: three who served in the First World War and nine who served in the Second World War. Enabling us for the first time, to look in detail at their war experiences, and the stories will take us from the valleys of South Wales to the deserts of North Africa, from Dunkirk to D-Day, and from the Indian Ocean to prisoner of war camps in Poland.
Booking is essential please call Brynmawr Library to reserve your FREE place on 01495 369603.
Books will be available to purchase from the author on the day for £15 – cash only.
