Becoming a Member

Membership of the library service is free to all Blaenau Gwent residents. You can join at any branch of the library by presenting proof of your name and current address. There is no minimum age for joining, but those under the age of 16 years will need to join at a library branch as we require a signature from their parent or guardian.

Register Online

Join the library online by clicking on the button below after you have read and accepted the membership conditions. Once registered and confirmed your Pin, you will receive a welcome message containing your temporary library number. You will need this information to access your account, and to start using e-books, e-audiobooks, e-magazines, e-newspapers, and online resources straight away.

Following your first visit to the library with proof of ID, we will upgrade you to full library membership which allows you to borrow books and other items, and access library computers.
